Log your lifts. Keep them on your phone.
Chalklog is a workout log for people who lift. Sets, reps, weight, rest timer, routines, records and charts, on your phone and your wrist. There is no account, no server and no feed. One purchase, nothing locked.
What it does
- Fast logging. Your last numbers sit beside every set row. Type weight and reps, check the set, and the rest timer starts. Warm-up, drop and failure sets, supersets, RPE if you want it, notes per exercise.
- Apple Watch app. A remote for the workout on your phone. Start a routine, log a set in one tap or adjust it with the crown, run the rest timer, finish. When a rest ends and your iPhone is locked, its notification taps your wrist. The phone can stay in the bag as long as it is nearby.
- Routines without limits. Folders, reorder, duplicate, archive. Finish a workout and write today's sets back into the routine, or save any workout as a new one.
- Charts and records for every exercise. Estimated one-rep max, heaviest set, volume and reps over time, best reps at every weight. All worked out from your own sets, on the phone.
- History that shows its work. A calendar, a weekly chart, every workout editable after the fact, and a one-tap repeat.
- Body weight and measurements. With their own charts. Apple Health writing is off by default and Chalklog never reads your Health data.
- Your data, portable. CSV export of your workouts, routines, measurements and exercises that imports straight back, and CSV import so the history you kept in another app comes with you.
What stays private
- No account, no server, no analytics, no ads, no feed, no followers. The only notification is the rest timer, from your phone.
- The database is encrypted and kept out of iCloud and computer backups. Lock the app with Face ID or a PIN.
- The app makes no network requests. Put the phone in Airplane Mode and keep logging.
- The only copies that leave the phone are the ones you choose: a CSV export, Apple Health writing, the Apple Watch app (it shows the workout in progress with last time's figures for each exercise, your routine names and the name of your last workout), and your routine names for Siri. The Privacy Policy spells out each one.
What it does not do
Chalklog does not generate workouts, suggest weights or tell you what to lift. It shows what you did; what you do next is yours. Estimated one-rep max is an estimate from your logged sets, not a test. Lifting carries risk, so talk to a professional about anything that concerns you. The only copy of your log is on your phone, so export it now and then.
