silentmile

Support

Email admin@lomalabsllc.com and a human will get back to you. Because the app has no analytics or crash reporting, we genuinely don't know something broke unless you tell us, so a screenshot and your iOS version help a lot.

Common questions

The app isn't recording my location.
Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → SilentMile and allow "While Using". That is all the app ever asks for, and recording keeps going with the screen locked because the workout started while the app was open. It only uses location while a workout is running. If you denied it the first time, or turned Location off during setup, you can also flip Use GPS in SilentMile's Settings → Recording, and iOS lets you change the permission itself only from the Settings app.
No heart rate during workouts.
Heart rate comes from Apple Health (your watch) or a Bluetooth strap. Check that Heart Rate from Apple Health is on in SilentMile's Settings → Data, then Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → SilentMile for the Health permission itself, or pair your strap in SilentMile's Settings → Sensors.
My watch workout didn't show up on the phone.
Watch workouts transfer over the local watch link and can take a minute after the workout ends, longer if the phone was off. They arrive automatically, and you don't need to keep either app open.
How do I move my history from Strava or Garmin?
Export your data from their site. On Strava that is Settings → My Account → Download or Delete Your Account → Download Request, which gives you GPX files without deleting anything. Then open the files with SilentMile from the Files app, or AirDrop them to your phone and choose SilentMile.
How do I get my data out?
Settings → Export All Activities gives you a ZIP of GPX files, and single activities export from the activity page. Your data is never locked in.
I forgot my PIN.
If you set up Face ID, the lock screen offers it, and iOS falls back to your device passcode. If you only set a PIN and truly can't recall it, there is no way back into that data: we never have it, it isn't in any backup, and the PIN is stored only as a hash. Deleting and reinstalling the app gives you a fresh start with no lock and no history.
Does "Erase Everything" really erase everything?
Yes. The database is wiped and re-keyed, the encryption keys are destroyed, and workouts SilentMile wrote to Apple Health are removed. If any step fails, the app lists exactly what didn't complete.
